Listen "xyzpodcast x mich hoo (KLDF2022 special)"
Episode Synopsis
This series of podcasts is curated to celebrate KL Design Festival 2022, co-organized by PAM NEXT, with a theme of Resilience in Architecture. The guests were invited to share their perspectives and thoughts from different disciplines to provide a diverse understanding of being resilient in architecture and beyond. In this episode, Gary had a conversation with Mich Hoo on urban resilience and why it is important in creating a livable and durable city, in place making and living quality. "This episode covers a wide range of inputs on the characteristics and approaches to form a resilient city, as you probably could imagine the complexity of a city's network and urban fabric - but Mich's narrative which is based on 7 principles - reflective, robust, resourceful, flexible, redundant, inclusive and integrate (with one additional note on decentralized) has been simplified and tailored as a set of requirements for different locales to perform their best defense of being resilient and sustainable. I would say this episode established a good fundamentals for the urbanites and communities to extend propositions on how to make a better city, particularly on the accessibility of enjoying a livable city."
