Episode Synopsis
"In this episode, Ceas Chong and Clementine Cheung shares their design intention behind an installation called Dashing Through Weather's Lapse. Through the conversation with Ceas and Clementine, I find their artwork is extremely minimalistic: it appears to be lightweight, transparent and permeable, almost like clouds (or maybe an umbrella). To be more specific, clouds that resulted from the condensations of people's stories and people's relationship to the weather, people's encounters to a world's experience. With words resembling an intangible, abstract form of literature and poetry, the architectural representation is the delivery of those words, engraved literally as the roof... or as the floor when the shadows are casted. As we mentioned in the podcast, there is no one singular way to conclude the experience of the installation. I hope you enjoy this poetic conversation, circulating as a way of celebrating variations and changes of weather.

The weather, an ageless overseer of all life, bears witness to Sai Kung’s development while listening to the islanders’ lives and their fleeting moments. The project views the weather as a profound witness, leading people through a whimsical ‘weather forecast’ portal. It instantly propels one into an island-hopping journey, fostering an imagined recollection of the memories belonging to the inhabitants of Sai Kung..', narrated by The Moving Atlas. " - Gary Yeow.
The festival runs from 15 September 2023 to 14 January 2024, covering the area of Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau and High Island, through artworks, programmes and guided tours to connect the island stories.
