INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Thursday, March 27, 2025 Topic: THE PURPOSE OF HIS GLORY! Memory Verse: ‭‭"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" - John 1:14 NKJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭Matthew 21:20‭-‬22 NKJV 20. And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?” 21. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. 22. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” INSPIRATION: Never for once has the revelation or manifestation of God's glory been about us but about God and the kingdom of His Christ! John says, "We beheld the glory of Jesus, full of "Grace" and "Truth."" Any manifestation of glory that does not reveal God's grace and the truth about the person of Jesus is counterfeit. So if you think to manifest glory is only to 'shine' in an oppressive manner or to show you've arrived, you have missed the point and strayed farther away from God's purposes. God wants and expects your manifestation of glory to be graceful. That is, it must point us to the love of God lavished through the person of Jesus to redeem mankind. It must reveal the truth that Jesus is the only way to salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4: 12). In Matthew 21, Jesus had cursed a fig tree and it withered. His disciples were amazed at the manifestation of power, and pointed the dead tree to Jesus. But Jesus used the occasion to draw them to the truth about their faith. Faith is an absolute trust in the dynamic power of God. If you manifest any form of glory that does not point anyone to the truth, you need to reexamine the source of your glory. "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us" (Cor. 4:7). Glory, often, is a demonstration of power. But Paul say this power is of God, and not of us. In other words, everything about us should reveal the glory of God, and nothing of ourselves because there's nothing that we have that we have not received (1 Cor. 4:7). TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Examine who gets the glory when you achieve something: you or God? Determine to make God the centrepiece around which your life revolves. Nothing for you; all for Him. Repent of your previous acts of appropriating God's glory to yourself. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me to correctly appropriate all glories to You in my life. Give me a clearer and deepened understanding of this truth so that I'll no longer desire to share in the glory that should go to You, in Jesus name.
