Memory Verse: "‭‭The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him" - Lamentations 3:24 KJV Bible Text: Job 14:7 KJV 7. For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. INSPIRATION: Job wasn't just waxing motivational when he said, "For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again," he gave reason why this must occur: the introduction of the scent of water (Job 14:9). Motivation devoid of the scent of water is mere philosophy, and at best, enticing words of man's wisdom (1 Cor. 2: 3-5). Although, it may be soothing, yet, has its limitations. It is only the word of God that is limitless in form and boundless in nature. Nothing withstands the authority of God's word, and where appropriately applied, the results are sure to come. Today, many people are dealing with many issues that drag at the fabrics of their hope and faith. Hope has been deferred for far too long that their hearts are now sick (Prov. 13:12). Can I challenge you to apply the word continuously to the situation until it prevails. Scriptures declare, "So mightily grew the word of God and it prevailed (Acts 19:20). The continuous application of the word to a lingering situation is the reinforcement of your faith; it is you holding on to your beliefs on God's word, knowing His word has been tried or tested by fire and found to be truly faithful (Psa 12: 6). TODAY'S TAKE HOME: ‭‭Job said, "Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant" (Job 14:9), Peter says, "We have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net" (Luke 5:5). Both men must have known something about God's word that gives them this level of confidence. I dare you, too, to hope in the word, which is Jesus, the Christ! PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for reinforcing the truth of Your word in my heart. My hope is renewed and my faith ignited to believe Your Word irrespective of how I feel. My hope stays alive and I know everything would turn out just fine with me, in Jesus name.
