Episode Synopsis

INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Friday, November 28, 2025 Topic: MAKE THE MEN SIT DOWN! Memory Verse: "‭Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you" - 1 Peter 5:7 KJV. Bible Text: John 6:10 KJV 10. And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. INSPIRATION: The world's programming has conditioned men to always be on the move, become anxious while jostling for the opportunities to satisfy their needs. This insatiable quest has not only left men battered, broken and disoriented, it has made many of them to be restless with pressure. Whether we like to admit it or not, everyone faces some form of pressure, although, some are so choked by it that they lack where to ventilate. It is against this background that it makes sense to see men throng Jesus for bread. Yet, Jesus, in His characteristic unconventional way commands the men be made to sit down. It is instructive that we pay attention to this command! Being busy and about the place is not always synonymous with making progress; allowing yourself no rest is a quick recipe for breakdown and self-destruction. It is being a self-abortionist of your own 'pregnancy!' To digress from this thought, notice how John points us to the presence of so much grass on which they sat on. That's green pastures, if you care to oblige me, that is what was required to nourish them. When you're well fed with God's word, much of the anxiety that makes you restless and never sitting down would disappear. It's time men learn to sit down with the Word (Jesus) for instructions that matter to their destiny. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: ‭‭There's a secret to changing the course of your life which many haven't learned: it is to know when to sit down with the Master! PRAYER: Dear Lord, I receive grace to know when to sit down and not allow anxiety and the cares of this life to choke your Word out of my life. Help me to find green refreshing pasture in your Word that nourishes and builds me up, in Jesus name.
