INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Wednesday, February 19, 2025 Topic: GET TO WORK ALREADY (Part 2)! Memory Verse: ‭‭ "So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’" - Luke 19:13 NKJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Luke 19:26 NKJV 26. ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. INSPIRATION: When we say, 'Get To Work Already' or 'Get Busy,' we must understand that it is not every activity that we engage in falls within the category of God's business, for which our discussion is focused. Martha got busy cooking to serve Jesus (Luke 10: 38-42), but her activities didn't get the endorsement and praise of Jesus. This calls for caution when we serve in God's vineyard. To occupy therefore, is to consciously align in thoughts and action in our execution of God's business. Many people do God's business with reckless abandon; they're only interested in the rewards and glories associated with the office, not because they love the Lord or want to serve in his vineyard with all their heart. Jesus asked, "Why look for me, don't you know I must be about My Father’s business?" Are you mindful of the Father’s business under your charge? God says, 'Do business till I come.' It means, he expects you to engage in some form of 'commerce' to sell his product, drive sales to penetrate the 'market' and win more 'customers.' Owing to the last statement above, can you say you've fared very well in handling God's business? How profitably and judiciously have you used your gifts, talents and graces? Where has your calling been felt? Sometimes, don't just hurry through a bible verse. Take your dictionary or google the word, 'Occupy,' and think deeply about its many usages and meanings. How dominant is your presence, influence and impact in your assignment? But whilst at it, remember God sees in secrets and cannot be deceived. You'll be rewarded according to your service when it is tried by fire. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Know your assignment and map out a strategy to dispense with it faithfully. Determine that God's business in your hands must not suffer loss or neglect. Get busy. The standards of faithfulness in stewardship is God's. Measure your services using God's scales, not yours. PRAYER: Dear Lord, teach and help me to prioritise your work, to serve with diligence and be busy in the real sense of it. Cause my stewardship to come to You as a sweet, pleasing savour, that brings you delight while making me to shine forth gloriously, in Jesus name.
