Listen "Serving in Ministry as a Family"
Episode Synopsis
ReflectionServing God is not meant to be an individual pursuit—it is a family calling. Joshua’s bold declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord,” was more than a personal statement; it was a vision for his entire household. Joshua understood that true worship extends beyond the walls of the temple into the home, where love for God is lived out in daily actions. In the New Testament, this is echoed in the story of Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18). This husband-and-wife team opened their home for ministry, taught others, and supported Paul in spreading the Gospel. Their unity in serving the Lord made their home a base for the Kingdom’s work. When families serve together—whether in church, community outreach, or simply showing kindness to neighbours—they not only build God’s kingdom but also strengthen their own bonds. Serving as a family teaches humility, compassion, and teamwork. Children who see their parents serving learn that ministry is not just a Sunday activity—it’s a lifestyle of love and service to God and others.
