Listen "Guarding Against Cultural Errors"
Episode Synopsis
ReflectionIn every generation, culture shifts—and not always toward truth. The values celebrated by society can easily conflict with the eternal principles of God’s Word. As parents and believers, we must be vigilant to guard our families against cultural errors that subtly creep into our thinking and living. In Daniel 3, we find Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego standing tall when everyone else bowed to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image. The culture of Babylon demanded compromise, but these young men stood firm because they were grounded in God’s truth from childhood. They didn’t decide to stand in that moment—they had been trained to stand long before. Today’s “golden images” might not be statues but ideas—relativism, self-worship, moral compromise, or distorted definitions of love and truth. Culture tells our children to “follow your heart,” but Scripture teaches, “follow God’s Word.” We can’t protect our families from every influence, but we can equip them to discern truth from error through the wisdom of Scripture.
