Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” INSPIRATION: Jesus shows up in his birthplace - a manger, a ship's pen! A Prince and Saviour of the world born in a debased place when he could have be born in the best hospital in the world?! But His lowly birth didn't detract from whom He is! He's the Prince of Peace and the One to save all men from their sin. Often times, we get so fixated on the mundane that we do not get to recognise the divine. In so doing, many have missed out of divinely, carefully orchestrated miracles and groundbreaking opportunities. Someone gets told about Jesus and his cynical response was, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" How so often have we despised very good things presented to us in their rough edges? How so often have we walked out on opportunities we could have seized because they were not dressed in the very attire we expected them to be robed in? How many doors have we shut in our own faces for failure to discern they were our gateway to our answered prayers or a godly setup to help us fulfil our destiny? Sometimes, beyond the size and worth of a gift is the thoughtfulness of the giver. To have considered you worth the prize for a gift should not be trivialised. Do you know what it cost God to offer Christ for your salvation? Have you discerned every possible ramifications as to how worthless and condemned you could have been but for the saving grace of Jesus. How then has your response been to the wholesome sacrifice paid for your ransome? Have you thought about this for a while? Had David not rightly discerned the slave boy he met in pursuit of the enemies that plundered Ziglag, he might have mistaken him for a spy and killed him. Had that been the case, the secret that led to his recovery would have been lost forever, and thus negating God's word to purse, overtake, and recovery all. Many have disdainfully dismissed their destiny helper or ordained spouses and partners. Your inability to discern correctly is dangerous both for you and all connected to you in destiny who could have profited from your discernment! TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Unwrap Christ this season; get revelational insights to His divinity, love, power and all that comes with it. Don't be a deprived, second class Christian by your ignorance! PRAYER: Oh Lord, please help me to fully know the gift of Christ, to embrace in its entirety all that God has reserved for me in Christ. Help me to recognise the gift of men and to utilise same for my advantage and to Your glory, in Jesus name, Amen.
