Episode Synopsis
thanks to huat and william for joining me in this conversation on the book wired for culture by mark pagel. as mentioned, this book is rather generalized, but not superficial - that we have to know where the author came from. my personal perception of the book as an easy resource to gather information and data to address the importance and necessity (or perhaps urgency) to be altruistic and cooperative, despite how true and convincing of dawkins' selfish gene (and extended phenotype), which pagel cited a lot.
before the start of second session on artificial intelligence, we had a short engagement with the participants - which was quite happening to receive such diverse thoughts on culture. and its good to acknowledge the imperative of dialogues and conversations that drive us further and more open into possibilities and explorations. my great appreciation goes to the participants, who have contributed their reflections too.
