Episode Synopsis "Time's Up! Exams: Revise, Reform, or Revolt?"

What does Scotland expect from its qualification system? What do teachers want? What are employers after? More importantly: what do young people need?2020 has exposed many things. There was uproar when teacher judgement was yoked to statistical modelling by the exam boards. It was accompanied by a bad smell of injustice and inequality. Was 2020 a peculiarity? Have we simply seen 'how the sausage is made'. Is the system broken, or does it just need a little tinkering?Join our panel to call Time's Up! on the current methods of granting qualification. We will ask whether the current system needs to be met with revision, reform, or revolt.Featuring: Participants from Exam Scot (@examscot) James McEnaney (@MrMcEnaney) Harold Raitt (@Mr_Raitt) Isabelle Boyd (@isaboyd) Sammy McHugh (@MsSammyMcHugh) Andy Leask (@AndyLeask) More guests TBC.Our panel will hopefully respond to the SQA Revisions to the 2021 qualifications, and the publication of the Priestley report into 2020.
