Episode Synopsis "Connection to Community"

Building relationships  between schools and communities are a cornerstone in supporting student success. Some schools were already doing this and others were struggling. Now with COVID-19, all are unsure how to proceed. Today we talk about all this and what you can do in your schools and communities to help. Transcript Abby Lewis- Abby is a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Columbus Middle School in Columbus, WI. Before teaching, she worked in corporate training and community programs to provide services to students and families. Abby is currently pursuing her principal and curriculum license at the University of Wisconsin. Jake- Educator; Fantasy Football League Manager; Amateur D and D player; Avid Reader; Eastsider born and raised. Emily-Emily is a mother of two wonderful children that are her greatest legacies.  Her passion in life is to be a part of the movement to eradicate white supremacist practices and ideals no matter how unconscious or overt.  She hopes to one day be able to learn how to successfully keep houseplants alive.
