INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Tuesday, February 25, 2025 Topic: MADE BY CHOICE (Part 2)! Memory Verse: "But you should all constantly boil over with passion in seeking the higher gifts. And now I will show you a superior way to live that is beyond comparison!" - 1 Corinthians 12:31 TPT Bible Text: Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV 19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: INSPIRATION: Apostle Paul makes this very profound proposition to the Corinthian church, "And now I will show you a superior way to live that is beyond comparison!" It suggests that there're other ways to live that are inferior to what he proposes. At times you may think you've it all based on your own limitations, but if you'd just allow a little push, you'd soon realise there exists greater heights you haven't yet attained, bigger opportunities you haven't accessed yet, and more to life than you could ever imagine. Shortsightedness and our inability to dream big can short-circuit us, leaving us to glory in the mundane while the real substance is left untapped. It is the reason a Cain would prefer to kill an Abel and a Lot would prefer to choose before his uncle, Abraham. It is the reason an Esau would sell his birthright. It is the reason many pick a glittering worthless piece over treasures of gold and diamonds. God suggests we choose life so we and our seed my live. Do you factor posterity into your choices when you make them? Your choice of a spouse, career, business, where to live, what to invest in, who not to associate with, does it have a universal outlook that considers your seed? God said of Abraham, "He'll direct his children and household to keep the way of the Lord" (Gen. 18: 19); Joshua chose to serve the Lord with his household (Josh. 24: 15); Joseph chose not to do wickedness and sin against God (Gen. 39: 9); Daniel chose not to defy himself with the king's food (Dan. 1: 8); Moses chose to suffer shame with God's people (Heb. 11: 24-25); Esther would rather perish than let Israel be killed (Est. 4: 16); Ruth chose the God of Naomi (Ruth 1: 16); Rahab, the harlot, chose to save Israeli spies (Josh. 6: 25), etc, all of which gained glory for choosing aright. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: What informs your choices? Those who trivialise the power of making the right choices end up with deep-seated regrets. Don't add to this negative statistics. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please give the courage and presence of mind to make the right decisions always. Guide my plans, thoughts, actions, and emotions to align with your will that guarantees my utmost good, in Jesus name, Amen.
