Episode Synopsis

INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Sunday, December 22, 2024 Topic: GOD'S GRACE AND GLORY (Part 3)! Bible Text: Luke 1:20‭-‬22 NKJV 20. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless. INSPIRATION: Many of us may have heard of God's glory but we've never seen or handled it before. A song writer sang, "When the glory comes, there will be no words to say oh oh oh oh." God's glory will make you speechless and drain you of your skills and abilities to put up a show of performance. God's glory will leave you in awe of God's magnificence and splendour  that all you'd desire is to just connect in reverential worship rather than put up a religious show. Unfortunately, due to insensitivity, immaturity of an hypocritical show of spiritual self-righteousness, many would want to put up a service that would not be acceptable to God just to impress others instead of offering reasonable, acceptable worship service to God. Herein lies the problem of today's believers. When the cloud of God's glory filled the temple, the priest could not minister (2 Chron. 5:14). You can't be sold out to God and His ways and not know when not to interfere with the move of the Spirit. Most times, we exert ourselves so much so that we interrupt God's flow. What services do you want to render that's more important than what God is intending to do at that moment? Learn from the priest in 2 Chronicles 5:14. Sometimes, our desire to keep up with our religious routines when God's glory is present is not an act of faith but unbelief, it is a show of lack of understanding that stir us to think it is our performance that guarantees the moves of His anointing. Real glory will leave you a different and thoroughly broken person than you were before the glory came. I wish you would long for this experience in the here and now. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Have a longing and unquenchable desire for His glory. Take the right posture before and after you encounter God's glory. Lay everything aside; conquer self and soar in the grace and power of His glory. PRAYER: Oh Lord, please help me not to struggle with yielding myself when it's all for and about your glory. May I not be a stumbling block to the manifestation of your glory. Help to learn how to give the Holy Spirit the right of way in my life and ministry, and may I experience great blessings for my yieldedness, in Jesus name.
