INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Tuesday, January 7, 2025 Topic: DISCERN YOUR SEASON (Part 2)! Bible Text: John 2:4 AMP Jesus said to her, “[Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? My time [to act and to be revealed] has not yet come.” INSPIRATION: One significant thing to note about seasons is that a new season may or may not happen everyday, and you cannot always determine when you enter a season. This is all the more reason to be extremely sensitive to the seasons of your life. Another very significant thing worthy of mention about seasons is that you can perpetuate or prolong a season by the things you do or fail to do. The importance of this is that it can make you suffer the consequences of your actions or enjoy the proceeds of what you do with a seasons. A great season can be at your doorsteps and you could be so insensitive to it; a bad season could be on its way out but your uncooperative and unbelievable actions could make it linger a while longer. The author of Ecclesiastes tells us, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" (Eccl. 3:1). Don't get stuck in a season whose time and significance has expired; don't delay actions in a season where action is needed, otherwise, you'd never know what to do, nor will anyone or anything be at your commandment (1 Chro. 12:32). According to Jesus's reply to his mother, there's a set time for the miraculous, a time when the water is stirred. Insensitivity to such divine timing can cause affliction to last much longer or make you miss a major divine intervention. Insensitivity can make you also become too familiar with Jesus that you do not know what to do with his presence like the impotent man by the pool (John 5:6-7). This is not the season to just make merry with family and friends only but one to download God's agenda for your next phase of operations. Don't let your new season take you unawares. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Develop spiritual sensitivity; discern timing. Avoid the consequences of getting ahead or behind God's schedule. Allow the Holy Spirit to influence your choices and actions at all times. PRAYER: Oh Lord, teach me how to yield to your will and perfect timing in all that concerns me. Cause your love to compel me to act right and to understand God's timing for each required action, so that ultimately, you get all the glory from my actions, in Jesus name.
