Episode Synopsis "Columbia Graduate Student Strike"
On March 15th, the Graduate Workers of Columbia University (GWC) picketed on College Walk at the Morningside Heights campus. As heard in the speeches of several local leaders at a rally prior to the picket, their demands included higher pay, better health benefits, and overall security as student workers, formalized in a renewed contract. It was also my personal 1-year anniversary of being swept off campus as Covid-19 began to spread throughout the city.
