Caregiving, health, and technology are the focus of Episode 12 of Talking Care. Joining Murray Segal for this episode is Mary Lou Ackerman, Vice President of Business Capabilities at Saint Elizabeth Health Care, who specializes in improving home health care delivery through technology. Mary Lou discusses some of the challenges of "long distance" caregiving, and provides an overview of some of the monitoring devices available which can provide peace of mind for caregivers who are worried about the safety of their loved ones. Some examples include auto alerts for falls, medication reminders, and sensors to alert caregivers that their loved one has been able to get out of bed.
