The Surgery Interest Group at The Ohio State University College of Medicine presents Scrub Talk, a podcast series where we interview surgeons to gain insight into their field and their journey to surgery. In this episode we interview Dr. Joel Beane. Dr. Beane is a surgical oncologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Along the way, we discuss mentorship opportunities for interested medical students, getting involved with research as a student, pathways to a surgical career that includes research, and how to build great relationships with your mentors and preceptors.
