I'm so excited about this episode! For this episode and the next, we have special guests Dr Colin Robertson and Mel Spooner from the CAWS team... "CAWS creates content, courses and curriculums specific to the current needs of fitness professionals," and their philosophy is "to take the core principles from elite sport, science and medicine, and apply them to the education needs of commercial fitness." In this episode, we discuss the major impact that Long Covid has had on so many people's lives, the importance of trainers in helping facilitate the recovery process, the disregard for science in the approach to Covid that the government has taken and the underestimation of the sheer number of people with Long Covid. I really enjoyed conducting these interviews and found both Colin and Mel to be extremely knowledgable and very engaging in how they explained a number of points and aspects. As a club, we are very proud to be undertaking the courses provided by CAWS and we already have fully certified Rebuild™ Coaches to offer support and coaching to anyone suffering with Long Covid! The other courses we are undertaking are Rebound™ and Fortitude™, which are courses for programming clients out of lockdown and a guide to mastering behaviour change with vulnerable groups.
