There is this idea that when we workout we have to feel the burn in the muscles, and if we don’t, then it’s either because it’s a wrong workout or it’s no longer effective. But the truth is the burn we feel during a workout is simply the result of lactic build up in the muscles and studies have shown it has nothing to do with how much muscle you build, or how much fat you burn (1) (2).
