Memory Verse: ‭‭"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples" - John 15:8 NKJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭John 15:4‭-‬7 NKJV 4. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. INSPIRATION: I suspect this will shock someone out of their preconceived notion about the manifestation of glory, where all along, they've thought it was about the demonstration of power over satanic incursion, of winning in life, and having testimonies alone. But Jesus says for the Father to be glorified, you must bear much fruits! Just imagine that the fruits you're expected to bear is qualified with "MUCH!" It gives you the idea that you can't do anyhow with this commandment because the measuring scale is determined by the One who sets the rules. Secondly, you cannot produce anyhow fruits even if it comes in large quantities. Scriptures say, "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance" (Matt. 3:8). What does Matthew here? It means to “Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.” This is true repentance, not just to turn from sin, only to turn back to sin. That misses the whole point of repentance. Turn from sin and keep turning from sin, and experience the fruit of righteousness, of freedom from sin. One way to guarantee the continuous production of enduring and acceptable fruits is to ensure you're planted in the Vine; it is to abide in Him. Many miss the point when they think engaging in much of church activities equate to "ABIDE." It is in abiding that He supplies the materials for your fruitfulness, otherwise, you're useless. Abiding in Him helps you develop Christ-like attributes that self-righteousness cannot produce. Refusal to abide dries you up automatically until you're bundled and burned. How so dangerous to have dried up while still acting and thinking you're effectively productive. Ask Samson whom the bible describes as, "... He didn’t realize that God had abandoned him" (Judges 16:20 MSG) TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Examine your level of fruitfulness. Watch out for traces of things that could disconnect you from abiding in Christ. Do not treat signals of spiritual dryness lightly. A lot go wrong when you dry up. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me to bear acceptable fruits in terms of quantity and quality. Help me to gain revelational insight into this truth and equip me for all round fruitfulness, in Jesus name.
