Great men are products of encounters; encounters that have lived through the test of time; encounters that have been subjected to fire. But rather than get burnt, they were refined, purified and separated for greater exploits. Encounters are no spiritual gimmicks; anyone who makes mockery of the encounters of other people doesn't yet understand spiritual things. Encounters defer in degree and intensity, same way they differ in purpose. Some encounters are destiny-changing, others are empowerment driven to equip us to walk a path ordained for us; a path that can only be walked through by grace because we've been given the power to be that specific specimen or entity for that special purpose or office. John says, "As many as received him, he gave the power to be..." It is at the place of encounter that the receiving exchange occurs so the empowering transaction can be sealed. An encounter will nearly always separate us from what we're used to or strengthen us to be more resourceful and productive in what we're doing. Encounters impact us so we can make positive impact on others. Divine encounters are God's investments with definitive goals at heart to effect positive changes in society; they become the rallying campfire around which our lives revolve, set our hearts on fire so the will of God can be established in that we've been sent for. Show me a man who ever made any significant impact in any field of human endeavours, and I'd show you a man forged in the furnace of encounters.
