INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Monday, February 10, 2025 Topic: COMMANDING THE SUPERNATURAL (Part 3)! Memory Verse: ‭‭ "And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs” - Exodus 4:17 NKJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭ 2 Kings 2:8‭, ‬14 NKJV 8. Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground. 14. Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. INSPIRATION: Paul counsels us to, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Eph. 6:11), and to, "Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" - (Eph. 6:13). To "put on" and to "take up" divine armours are not just mere clichés or meaningless instructions. They call for a very conscious, deliberate and active participation from us. To overlook these instructions is to run life at your own peril. When you "put on" the whole armour, it enables you to stand against the tricks of the devil; and when you "take up," you're guaranteed a stamina that withstand anything. But of more significance are the things listed that must be carried in our journey of spiritual warfare (Eph. 6:10-18). Did you notice Verse 17 and what it says? "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;" (Eph. 6:17). How does anyone even think of going on a spiritual warfare without carrying the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God? Joshua lists meditating on the Word of God as a major criteria for good success (Josh. 1:8). Jesus overcame the devil's temptation by quoting the Word (He was quoting himself)! The word is the believer's tool for victory over every of life's challenge. The more of God's word you know and apply, the easier and more rewarding your life will be. Therefore, whatever you do, take with you this mantle. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Get conversant with the Word; read and study the Word. Learn how to rightly apply the Word to troubling situations in your life. Develop and exercise faith in the Word, not in any physical expression of a mantle. PRAYER: Dear Lord, teach me how to prioritise the study and use of Your Word over everything else. As I take conscious steps towards walking in the supernatural, cause me to daily delight myself in the knowledge of God's Word by applying it to life's issues for divine results, in Jesus name.
