Episode Synopsis

INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Saturday, January 4, 2025 Topic: AUDACITY OF UNTAMED DESIRE! Bible Text: John 4:17-18 NKJV The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.” INSPIRATION: There's an audacity that turns you into a daring tigress or lion, it's a desire that won't quit until it's satisfied. It keeps your appetite alive, discerning and alert, to pounce on opportunities. It's akin to a lion's heart that takes a lion's share. The Samaria woman in our text had such a daring desire that won't be tamed. She was consistent with her game, knowing her desires couldn't be satisfied just by an attempt alone. Paul says, "For a great and effective door has opened to me..." (1 Cor. 16: 9). How daring are you for the many doors of opportunities this year is bringing your way? How far and how many times more are you willing to try again this year? Her daring ability receives commendation from Jesus (John 4: 17). Isaac kept digging the wells, not bothering how many times his efforts were stopped (Gen. 26: 15 - 22). You may face rejection, don't give up; quitting may seem your wisest choice, dare to knock again. Ask, seek, keep knocking (Matt. 7: 7). If you'd have an audacity of untamed hope, your Rehoboth (Gen. 26: 22), might just be your very next effort. The woman's untamed desire met with her Rehoboth when she met the seventh man; Jesus (John 4: 28-29)! It took her seven attempts to get her answers! May we not be too lazy to strike consistently at our opportunities. "Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times" (2 Kings 13: 18-19). It is not enough to wish or pray. Dare to take your chances. Dream big, aim higher and unleash your untamed appetite to get your desires. Great doors of opportunities abound, see and take a shot at them! May your desires overrun and override every logical or illogical consideration why you shouldn't dare. Brave the odds, the future answers only to the daring. Crawl out of every limiting mindset. Ask questions, if you will; seek collaborations if you can't run solo, but by all means, take a big dive! TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Desire separates daring people from mere speculators. Don't be a spectator in the theatre you ought to be the main character! PRAYER: Oh Lord, I receive the grace and boldness to dare big and impossible goals. Wisdom and knowledge is imparted on me to compete favourably in the deep waters of business climate where opportunities and the wealth of the nations abound. I'm numbered amongst the greatly successful in my fields of operations, in Jesus name.
