This story is a snapshot into the life of a family everyone feels is ideal ... except for the aging patriarch, who is beginning to feel irrelevant. I can easily see Rod Serling turning this into an episode of The Twilight Zone, even though he never did. The surreal aspects at the end of the story are especially fascinating.
