Episode Synopsis "Families First Housing Pilot"
In partnership with St. Paul schools, the Families First Housing Pilot helps St. Paul families pay their rent with a $300 monthly rent supplement and ongoing supportive services for three years. You must have at least one pre-K to 3rd-grade student enrolled in a participating school in your household and meet certain rent and income requirements to be eligible. The program targets 7 schools in areas of St. Paul we know to have lots of low-income households with children, who are spending a significant amount of their income on rent. The program is funded by Mayor Melvin Carter’s Housing Trust Fund, created to produce, preserve, and protect housing affordability for St. Paul residents. The pilot program is taking applications on an ongoing basis until further notice. Find out if your family is eligible by going to www.stpaul.gov/housing
