Tom is joined by Gavin, who wrote the article titled ‘Encouraging Honesty in political campaigning’ for Dicta's 2019 issue. Gavin was inspired to write the article in light of the falsehoods that circulated at the time of the 2016 Brexit referendum. We discuss Gavin's proposed solution to this problem and explore the wider debate about what the role of social media should be in regulating falsehoods. We also discuss a business pitch, posed by Tom, that would serve as a new mechanism for holding political figures accountable for dishonesty.
