Welcome to the latest episode of the N The Numbers Podcast. Today's guest is Dr. Scott Pattison of TERC. Dr. Pattison talks to us about his journey into STEM education and gives us information on his work with Head Start on Engineering in East County with MHCC and others. We discuss the importance of introducing STEM at early ages and its impact on students and families.  Head Start on Engineering (https://www.terc.edu/hse/) is an ongoing partnership between TERC, Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Head Start, University of Notre Dame Center for STEM Education, and Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Currently, the program investigates the ways families develop interests related to engineering across contexts and over time. For this phase, the team is using a design-based implementation research approach and integrated longitudinal case studies to refine the HSE program with a larger group of families to serve as an innovative model for other communities around the country.
