The Infinite Monkeys Podcast is an alternative view on sports and sports analysis. Rather than addressing current or of-the-moment issues, I take on sports analysis in the abstract, macro sense. By drawing on well-established concepts of mathematics, philosophy and even economics, we can broaden our view of sports analysis and cancel out noise.This time we talk about the idea of "tanking" (losing on purpose for better draft position) using the Prisoner's Dilemma. The Prisoner's dilemma is an economics concept that illustrates why people will act selfishly even when it's obviously best to work as a team.
