Episode Synopsis "Part 1 The Crunch: The Story of Richard Hewson"

Richard Hewson has orchestrated for artists and bands including Paul McCartney, The Beatles, Diana Ross, a James Bond movie theme, Supertramp and Art Garfunkel. With one piano and as he describes it, an ancient four track, in 1977 he created top 10 international cult hit, THE CRUNCH which he wrote, produced and played as The Rah Band, an excuse he says; "Just to do my own tunes." This is the story of Richard Hewson. Coming up in part 1, Richard runs away to sea and shares how the merchant navy introduced him to music. Back in the UK, he moves to Chelsea and finds himself playing at the famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club before a chance meeting introduces him to Paul McCartney where his arranging career begins.
