Episode Synopsis "Trailer - The Cross Culture"
My earliest memories of life involve my family going to church. That’s where my parents’ friends were. That’s where my friends were. We learned things in Sunday School. And there were big dinners and events, Christmas, Easter, and it was fun. But when I was 8 and my Mom got sick, and then died. It was the people of the church who supported and in many ways sustained our family. The church meant something. It did something. Something big. Do you have a story like that? Or maybe your story is about how the church let you down – or why you don’t like the idea of church at all. Those are important stories too – and we are going to want to hear them. So let’s have a discussion about that – what church was, what church is, and what church could be. In each episode of The Cross Culture we are going to ask a member of our community, our church community and people from outside of it, what the church gets right – and what the church gets wrong. I’m David Burghardt and I invite you to listen to our podcast – The Cross Culture presented by Villages United Church – Rural Ministries. It’s going to be a discussion I hope you want to participate in and contribute to. Please join us for the The Cross Culture – what church was, what church is, and what church could be.
