Jacob Sakil is a former Young Mayor of Lewisham, (2009-10), founder of both Connecting Conversations and American Bites and is a long time advocate of young people of colour in politics. In his line of work Jacob advocates for young people of colour in London, UK to be part of and actively engage in todays local and national politics to effect change and opportunity in their communities. In this episode we speak on how and if the collective shifting in consciousness can explain for how younger generations are resonating and thinking differently in society ? How does this all forgo in building systems that qualify for and support an equal society? Jacob speaks on why engaging in your local politics and involving young people of colour could be the missing link. He shares on the lessons that come along with starting a businesses, receiving mentorship, the value of building a strong network around you and his plans to run for Local Councillor in 2021.
