Episode Synopsis "Intro the the Montessori Principles for Dementia Care"
In this episode Robin Ely, RN, DNP introduces the ten Montessori principles that have been adapted for dementia care. The principles are independence, choice, being error free, adapted materials, demonstration, familiar materials, meaningful activities, procedural memory, sequencing, and simple to complex. These principles are interdependent and can be used by dementia caregivers to improve engagement and quality of life for the person they are caring for and themselves.
