Welcome to the first episode of the Airport Communities Podcast.We have a motto "Solve for Sea-Tac, solve for all airports". Although a lot of the material we'll cover is specific to Sea-Tac, the issues are common to all airport communities.We're starting this podcast because people are super-short on time these days. So, episodes will be short. We want to get you to solutions as quickly as possible because over and over we hear people say "I don't have time to dive into all that!" Exactly. It is the complexity of the material that allows everyone -- the FAA, airport operators, electeds to do a ton of hand waving and convince you to waste your time on things that do not work, or simply give up thinking that 'resistance is futile'. It's not. But before we can tell you how to get out of this vicious circle, we need a few episodes to give you some background on how we all got in. After that (we hope) the path forward will make a lot more sense.In this episode, we discuss why we began STNI. There's a long-running pattern of initiatives that get half the way there, but are never followed up on. This creates a cycle of frustration - every few years  new people feel overwhelmed, thinking they are starting from zero. We want you to know that there is already a Version 1 for most of the things you care about. It's waiting for you to build on and get to Version 2.
