Happy November & Happy Belated Halloween! We meant to get this out in time for Halloween, but we missed by a few days. Sorry! But it's still “Spooky season” -Right!? The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. On March 25th, 1911, was considered one of the deadliest industrial disasters in U.S. history. One hundred and forty-six garment workers – mostly young immigrant women, were burned alive or forced to jump to their deaths from the 8th floor of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory building. In this episode we explore those Sheelas who fought to make significant reform for factory safety standards, working conditions that ultimately changed history for American workers. But we also explore those Sheelas that sacrificed their lives, returning as spirits in a quest for Justice & reckoning. Thank you for listening!
