Episode Synopsis "Opinion: KPU made the wrong move on eliminating varsity sports teams"

Kwantlen Polytechnic University removed all its varsity sports teams in 2015. The Varsity athletics budget was roughly $750,000, mostly focused on athletes in the Surrey Campus. The funding was then cut because the university could not support all of its players.  However, if the university was concerned about funding, they could have found other ways to financially support their sports teams through ticket sales, donations, merchandising and media rights.
