Episode Synopsis "State of Confusion"

The Ligonier Ministries recently released their 2020 State of Theology survey which asks the question, "What do Americans think about Jesus Christ, the Bible, truth, and ethics?"  The results of the survey is clear.  The state of theology in America is in a state of confusion.  The early Church was also in a state of confusion.  John was writing the letter because of "those who were trying to lead them astray" (1 John 2:16) and because of the presence of many "anti-christs" in the church.  But John calls to focus on which that was from the beginning.  [Sermon on Sept. 13, 2020.  Part 1 of the 1 John Sermon Series]1 John Sermon Series Description:Have you ever wondered if you are believing the right thing?  It seems that many of the young new believers of the 1st century were struggling with the same questions and doubts plaguing believers in the 21st century.  How do I know if I am truly saved?   How can I have genuine assurance of salvation?   What is Christianity really all about?  In this sermon series, we will follow the Apostle John as he teaches us what is a true Christian, how we can know that we know God, how we can have true assurance of salvation, and other foundational truths.
