WHAT IS MINISTRY? When we think of ministry, it's easy to focus on the external aspects -- the performance side of things. The visible aspects of ministry aren't bad, they're important, in fact, as they show us that we are taking our burden and putting it into action. But that can't be the whole focus. If we only look at the results -- the actions -- of ministry, it becomes indistinguishable from performance. To understand what ministry is all about, we have to get to the heart of the word: "minister" comes from the Latin word that means "to serve." This tells us so much.
