Episode Synopsis "Welcome to Intersectional Melanin Podcast"
Shelot Masithi is an environmental activist who believes that the climate crisis and social crises are intersectional problems that need to be addressed altogether, not separately. In scope, Shelot also believes that a greater threat than corruption is climate change in the faces of whitewash and greed. In this podcast, Shelot talks about environmental narcissism, intersectional sustainability, climate change, carbon tax, climate displacement (migration), and the youths. With this podcast, she aims to educate African youths about the urgency of climate action - and the globe about the reality of direct climate effects confronting Africa. She encourages young people not to despair in the face of climate anxiety/eco-anxiety - but to fuel their anxiety into change, something they're passionate about. Listen to this podcast if you want to learn more about intersectionality, sustainability, and how you can be part of the solution. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/shelot-masithi/message
