This 2 hour show is an interview with local reggae DJ DGO RANKS and a selection of his tunes and dub plates spanning a career that began as a 6 year old buying records at Rita's in Stamford Hill. Hackney Wick Community Radio (HWCR) shows focus on the area, its people, and the history and changes in the east end; often referring to the area's position at the sharp end of citywide gentrification. Featuring in depth and Vox Pop interviews, musical selections, soundscapes, contemporary and historical narratives streamed through www.wickradio.org Shows were recorded and broadcast in The LAB Hackney Wick, a temporary take over, by artists and musicians Pete Bennett and Joel Smith, of the Studio Bark/GROW Eco Pod situated in Main Yard Hackney Wick E9, that presents a modular and sustainable form of architecture that is easily assembled, ecologically friendly and genuinely affordable, in contrast to the millions spent on luxury and 'affordable' buildings in its vicinity.
