In 2005, Dr. Deng Palomares was invited by Dr. Daniel Pauly to lead the SeaLifeBase project. In this episode, Dr. Palomares explains how the idea of a database of all marine organisms apart from finfish came to be and reveals that it was created as a homage to a pioneer of tropical fisheries science.
