INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Monday, September 22, 2025 Topic: GOD'S PROGRESSIVE REVELATION TO MAN (Part 2)! Memory Verse: "He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?" - Matthew 16:15 KJV Bible Text: Matthew 16:13 KJV 13. When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? INSPIRATION: God's revelation to man is progressive and dynamic, as it is personal. As such, no one can claim to have grasped all there is in God and about Him. It is important to note that personal encounters are birthing places for God's revelation. Encounters are triggered off by a passionate hunger. Until you get that revelation, you cannot in good fate answer Jesus's question, "...But whom say ye that I am?" - (Matt. 16:15). What aspect of God has He revealed to you that helps shape your understanding of Him? Some names of God we read in the bible such as Jehovah Jireh (Provider), El Roi (The God who sees me); El Shaddai (Multi-breasted One); Shammah (God is here) etc, were not names God introduced Himself by. These names were coined from the personal experiences or encounters of individuals. Today, we use them to relate to God in more meaningful ways than ever. But has God's revelation exhausted? Never! People still have encounters and destiny-defining experiences that birth new names of God. Can you passionately desire an experience that would cut out a special name of God for you? TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Jesus asked, "But whom say ye that I am?" Reflect on this for a moment. Shouldn't your own revelational response to this question force you into a personal retreat in search of God until His light burns in your spirit? Yes! It should!! PRAYER: O Lord, set my heart on fire for You. Make my spirit receive the true light of whom You are. Teach me to know You more; bring me to the place of encounters where I can be touched with Your coal of fire like Isaiah, so I can see You clearly, in Jesus name.
