From this experience, I learned a powerful lesson: not every boundary is a necessary one, and not every compromise is healthy. Sometimes, we set boundaries out of fear rather than necessity, and other times, we compromise in ways that only lead to resentment. As you move through the week, I encourage you to listen to your emotions. Are you holding back words just to keep the peace? That might be a sign of an unhealthy compromise. Are you setting a boundary but feeling deep sadness afterward? That could mean it wasn’t the right boundary to begin with. But if an emotional conversation leaves you feeling lighter, even if sadness lingers, that’s a sign you made the right choice.
