Episode Synopsis
NOVEMBER 28 - Trust the Safe Place3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 28:25; Joshua 19–20//3-Year Bible Devotional Book Available on Amazon//________________________________________“A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be enriched.” — Proverbs 28:25“These were the cities designated for all the people of Israel and for the stranger sojourning among them, that anyone who killed a person without intent could flee there, so that he might not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, till he stood before the congregation.” — Joshua 20:9________________________________________Have you ever messed up big time—like, seriously regretted something you did? Maybe it wasn’t on purpose, but it still hurt someone, and now you’re dealing with the fallout. In Joshua 20, God set up “cities of refuge” for people who accidentally hurt someone so they wouldn’t be punished without a fair trial. It was a way of saying, “There’s still hope. There’s still safety.” In Proverbs 28:25, we’re reminded that when we trust in God—not in ourselves, or what we can get, or how we can fix things on our own—He brings peace and blessing. God is our safe place, not just when we do everything right, but especially when we don't.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Where’s your trust? Are you trying to handle life all on your own—your reputation, your mistakes, your future? What would it look like to actually trust God with those things?2. God provides refuge: Just like the cities of refuge in Joshua, God still offers a place of safety today—not always physical, but emotional and spiritual safety in His presence.3. Be someone’s safe place: God’s people were told to make room for others—even outsiders—to find safety. How can you be a friend who offers grace and understanding to someone who’s messed up?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEGod is a safe place when life gets messy. Trust Him, run to Him, and let Him be your refuge—no matter what.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for being my refuge and strength, even when I make mistakes. Help me to trust You more than myself or the things around me. Show me how to run to You first, and how to offer that same grace to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
