Personal Reflections on My Educational Technology Experience

Listen "Personal Reflections on My Educational Technology Experience"

Episode Synopsis

For the second part of our final project for the Educational Technology class (or EDUC 331) with Professor Bigler at Colorado State University, our assignment was to reflect on 3 different topics we learned that focus on how we can become effective educators, foster deeper learning and empower a democratic community within the classroom.
For my reflections, I chose a more creative, heart-focused approach (...because that's what true teaching is about, no?).
The 3 topics I reflect on are:
     1) The importance/power of self-guided learning
     2) Stories matter (and so does empathy/empathetic teaching)
     3) The importance of opening up the conversation of technology (in both the virtual and physical classrooms)
P.S. A big thank you to Professor Bigler, my fellow classmates, and all my listeners for being willing to participate in conversation that matters. Thank you for your time, commitment and dedication to the pursuit of improving education. Changing the world, one lesson at a time!
