Episode Synopsis "Women Mind the Water ARtivist Series Manuela Zoninsen"

Manuela Zoninsein is a Brazilian-American with vivid memories of time spent on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro.  A graduate of the MIT-Sloan Executive MBA program, she has been designing and building a 21st century hydration system that's capable of sanitizing, refilling and dispensing beverage containers from a single vending machine. Her company, Kadeya, is on a mission to replace the single-use plastic bottle problem. It has set its goals high as it aims to be an important factor in addressing the plastic pollution crisis and reducing carbon dioxide by hundreds of millions of tons annually.  Manuela talks about Rio, her work as a journalist in China, and the experiences that led her to become a thought leader in the work needed to reduce single use plastic.
