Episode Synopsis "an interview with Michelle MacQueen"

We're "storytellers and data journalists, social media masters and aspiring filmmakers" in the Social Sciences and Humanities, working on SSHRC-funded projects through our grad schools. We're also people, as diverse as our fields and hopefully as interesting (here) as our #SSHRCStorytellers presentations. Learn some of the 25 Stories behind 2018's Top 25 Storytellers. ----- This is Michelle MacQueen, who WAS attending Carleton University, but has already defended her masters thesis for their Music and Culture program. Her shortlisted video is called Critical Constructions of Canadianness: The Tragically Hip and Representations of Canadian Identity. Video entry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t6zbjjqtVw&t=40s ----- Meagan Black is making this podcast, and she is one of the Top 25 SSHRC Storytellers. Beyond this title, Meagan Black is not associated with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. She is not employed by them, and this podcast is not funded, endorsed, approved or overseen by that organization or its officers. ----- The majority of the music used in this podcast is written, performed and owned by the Tragically Hip. Clips are used here to illustrate the podcast’s discussion and analysis of this band and their songs. The inclusion of these clips adds significantly to the educational value of the podcast, in a manner which could not be replicated with non-copyrighted music.
