In Episode 1 of The Southerns, I talk to Kathy. She and I went to high school together in the small town of Buford, Georgia. Now she and her family live out West in Scottsdale, Arizona. Talking to her, I realized that in many ways, we both remade ourselves when we fell in love with someone whose upbringing and experiences caused us to reconsider our own.
