Episode Synopsis "Episode 2: Can Payments Banks Emerge As 'Challenger' Banks In India?"
Fino Payments Bank is a new generation of Indian banks, striving to remove barriers to banking through an asset-light and tech-heavy business model. Created in 2015, when India's central bank launched a new kind of institution: payments banks, Fino follows a 'phygital' model to acquire customers and merchants. In FY20, Fino processed close to 30 million transactions per month, valued at over $1.4 billion. In this episode, we ask Fino's Chief Business Officer, Ashish Ahuja, if payments banks can emerge as 'challenger' banks in India.
