Episode Synopsis "Love Not Longing"
Sadness is part illusion. At least, that's what I believe. When we feel down about something, it's usually because we feel lack in an aspect of our lives which, believe it or not, is completely controllable. I know most of you have heard the saying, it's not what happens to you, but instead, it's how you react to what happens to you. When dealing with emotions, especially those that make you depressed or unhappy, it seems almost impossible to focus on the positive. However, what I've found to be true is that when I choose to focus on the loving aspect of any situation that is making me feel sad, I can quickly turn that sadness into a level of joy.It all starts with gratitude and having a deep understanding that, we are how we feel…but then to go even deeper, we are how we think. If we believe something is bad or allow ourselves to feel miserable, we will be. Instead, I choose to search for the love in everything. Love is at the core of every single thing in life. Even hate. People feel hate because they love something else more. While learning this and living by this principle isn't easy- I'm still learning every day- I've noticed such a change in my attitude because I've allowed myself to regain control. Sadness is just our spirit's way of yearning for joy. So focus on that joy- and stay in it. Give yourself permission to know that the love you crave, or the love you already hold in your heart for your family, career, self, etc., is ALL you should believe in because those emotions- the love, or the sadness, will BECOME who you are.If you're interested in things like the art of attraction or manifestation, these principles I'm speaking on won't seem foreign to you.People like Abraham Hicks and Buddhist teachings taught by Thich Nhat Hanh talk about being in the now, loving in the now, and the art of interbeing."People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong. Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?" - Quote Thich Nhat Hanh"Look for good things about where you are, and in your state of appreciation, you lift all self-imposed limitations – and all limitations are self-imposed – and you free yourself for the receiving of wonderful things."
